Playable Ads for Mintegral

Mintegral is a programmatic mobile advertising platform operated by Mobvista, with particularly strong publisher relationships across Asia-Pacific, including China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, and India. While it started with a regional focus, Mintegral now operates significant inventory in EMEA and North America and has become a mainstream choice for global hypercasual and casual game UA campaigns. Its creative subsidiary Mindworks provides creative production services alongside the media buying platform, though advertisers bringing their own playable creatives can bypass Mindworks and upload directly to the Mintegral dashboard.

ZIP (index.html + main.js)Size limit: 5 MBNot used — Mintegral JS API

Mintegral does not use MRAID for playables: it provides its own JavaScript API, so the store exit is window.install() rather than mraid.open(), and the creative is expected to call gameReady() when it is playable and gameEnd() once when the round ends. A missing gameEnd on the win is a common rejection. The Playable Ads Maker's Mintegral preset wires all three for you. Mintegral takes interactive end cards as well as playables, so the End Cards Maker exports to it too. The platform's publisher SDK is installed in a large volume of hypercasual games (particularly titles from Chinese and South Asian studios) so its audience in those markets has strong intent to install mobile games. For advertisers targeting Asia-Pacific specifically, Mintegral often delivers lower CPI than Western-focused networks because competition from other buyers is lower and publisher inventory is abundant.

The export format for Mintegral is a ZIP bundle containing index.html with all assets inlined. You upload this to the Mintegral creative management dashboard, enter the required metadata (app title, bundle ID, store URLs), and attach the creative to a campaign with your target geo, audience, and CPI goal. Mintegral's platform supports simultaneous targeting of iOS and Android within a single campaign, with the store redirect URL resolved at runtime based on the user's device. The creative review process typically takes 1–2 business days and is handled by Mintegral's in-house team.

Size, format, MRAID and store-exit rows are taken from Mintegral’s own documentation; “Playable Ads Maker builds to” is our exporter’s own target. Every network side by side: playable ad size limits by network.

If you already have a build, drop the ZIP into the free Playable Ad Spec Checker and it will grade it against these Mintegral requirements (size, packaging, MRAID and the store-exit call) in your browser, with nothing uploaded.

How to upload to Mintegral

  1. Create your playable end card in the editor. If targeting Asia-Pacific, consider whether your UI text should be localised. Mintegral supports separate creatives per geo for campaigns targeting specific language markets.
  2. Select the Mintegral preset in the Export modal and download the ZIP bundle. Open the ZIP to verify index.html is at the root and that no external URLs appear in the HTML source.
  3. Keep the creative under 5 MB. Mintegral's published creative asset specs list 5 MB for a playable without stating whether that is measured before or after compression, so the safe reading is to be under it either way.
  4. Log in to the Mintegral dashboard and navigate to Creative Management > Playable Ads.
  5. Click Add Creative and upload the ZIP file. Complete the required metadata fields: app name, bundle ID, iOS store URL, and Google Play URL.
  6. Fix anything Mintegral flags after upload, then click Submit for Review.
  7. Once approved, navigate to Campaign Management, create or edit a UA campaign, add the playable creative to an ad group, configure geo and audience targeting, and set your CPI bid.

File size tip

Mintegral publishes a limit of 5 MB; Playable Ads Maker builds Mintegral exports to 5 MB. If your export is too large, reduce image resolution, switch to WebP at 75–80% quality, or trim animation frame counts in the Playable Ads Maker Export modal. The live size estimate updates as you adjust each setting.

Tips for Mintegral playable ads

Create localised variants for Japanese and Korean markets

Mintegral's strongest publisher inventory includes a large volume of Japanese and Korean mobile game titles. Players in these markets respond well to localised UI and in-game text, even a simple translation of the in-playable instruction text (e.g. 'Tap to match!' in Japanese) can improve completion and install rates. Mintegral's campaign structure allows separate creatives per geo within a single campaign, making it practical to maintain a base English variant and one or two localised versions.

Keep window.install(), gameReady() and gameEnd() intact if you edit the export

Mintegral does not use MRAID, so there is no mraid.js and no mraid.open() in a Mintegral build. What it reads is its own JavaScript API: window.install() for the store exit, gameReady() when the playable can be played, and gameEnd() once when the round ends: Mintegral's documentation lists a missing gameEnd on the win as a common rejection. The Playable Ads Maker's Mintegral export calls all three. If you customise the HTML afterwards, do not swap in the MRAID exit from another network's build or remove the lifecycle calls.

Target hypercasual and puzzle genres for the highest volume on Mintegral

The majority of Mintegral's Asia-Pacific publisher inventory is concentrated in hypercasual, casual puzzle, and idle game categories. A playable for a word game, a match-3 title, or an idle tycoon reaches audiences with demonstrated engagement habits in those genres. Mintegral provides genre-level audience targeting in its campaign configuration: selecting genres that align with your app's core mechanic improves both CPM efficiency and post-install event rates.

Use Mindworks' preview tool to validate rendering on Chinese Android devices

China's Android ecosystem includes a large number of devices running custom Android forks (MIUI, ColorOS, HarmonyOS) with WebView engines that can render HTML and CSS slightly differently from stock Android Chrome. Mintegral's Mindworks portal provides remote device testing that lets you load your playable on representative Chinese Android devices. Check that animations play at the expected speed, that touch event handlers register correctly, and that the CTA button is not clipped by any custom status-bar overlay.

Playable Ads Maker does the Mintegral packaging (ZIP (index.html + main.js)), wires the window.install() store exit and inlines every asset when you export.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mintegral a good choice for campaigns outside Asia-Pacific?

Yes. While Mintegral built its initial publisher base in Asia-Pacific, it now has meaningful inventory in EMEA and North America through both direct publisher SDK integrations and programmatic exchange partnerships. For UA campaigns targeting Western markets, Mintegral can complement primary networks like Unity Ads and AppLovin by providing incremental reach at competitive CPIs, particularly in the casual game segment.

What is the difference between Mintegral and Mindworks?

Mintegral is the media buying and publisher network platform. The DSP where you create campaigns and upload creatives. Mindworks is Mintegral's creative services subsidiary that offers playable ad production as a managed service. If you are bringing your own playable created in the Playable Ads Maker, you interact with Mintegral's campaign dashboard directly and do not need Mindworks. Mindworks is relevant only if you want Mintegral's team to build the playable for you.

Does Mintegral support both iOS and Android in a single campaign?

Yes. Mintegral campaigns can target both iOS and Android simultaneously. When you upload a creative, you provide both the iOS App Store URL and the Google Play URL in the metadata. Mintegral's SDK resolves the correct store at runtime based on the user's device OS, so the same ZIP file serves both platforms without requiring separate creatives or separate campaigns.

What file size limit does Mintegral enforce: ZIP or unzipped?

Mintegral publishes 5 MB for a playable without saying whether that is measured before or after compression, so the safe reading is to stay under it either way. Playable Ads Maker builds Mintegral exports to 5 MB and shows the estimate in the export modal before you download.

Does Mintegral use MRAID?

No. Mintegral provides its own JavaScript API: the store exit is window.install(), and the creative signals its lifecycle with gameReady() and gameEnd(). A build made for an MRAID network, with mraid.open() as its exit, is the wrong build for Mintegral. The Playable Ads Maker's Mintegral export wires window.install() and both lifecycle calls, and ships no mraid.js tag.
